Posted June 29, Posted July 13, Simple answer: It's a false positive showing up because it's got the english patch, nothing malicious unless you count slightly stilted translations.

Longer explanation:It shows up as malware because it's a modified executable. A good majority of modified executables are NOT friendly, and disguising malware as an executable or a modified executable that would normally be trustworthy was and still is fairly common practice.

As such, antivirus programs have developed ways of figuring out if an executable has been modified from its original state, which happens to be the case here. If you got a notification that there is one, the issue may be caused by some part of the files having some effect that triggers your virus scanner.

Well then If windows isn't working, use something like winrar, which is free to extract your zip files, or some other software most are free.

Perhaps you are loading the "th08" file rather than the "Touhou08" file? They have the same icon, but their function is a little different.
